It is the week they call Twixmas - why?
& get those lists started for 2024 but also take time for you
My dear wordsmiths,
I’m just hopping on this week to say hello as I’m taking a week off the newsletter smell the coffee - and to prepare a bumper edition for January 2024.
I’m trying to be kind to myself (you should too) as I have tendency to over-commit. Just me? Today I have been off work and planning to focus, to write, to tidy. None of these have happened as two news stories broke ( I won’t bore you) which meant my phone has been ringing off the hook with national radio stations wanting me to chat about them - I’m pretty sure they have my rota and just ring me when I’m on a day off. Fortunately, one of my skills is talking about pretty much anything.
Anyway, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and this is your reminder, if you have any free time, to start your lists of writing goals for next year and visualise them all completed. But mainly take time to enjoy a deep breath, appreciate what you have already achieved and give yourself a pat on the back. If you are thinking about your project between Christmas and New Year - the week annoyingly coined as Twixmas (is it sponsored by Twix?) - you are definitely a writer.
Until next week, Nicola x
P.S I do really know Twixmas evolved from the old English word ‘betwixt’ ;-)
P.P.S Writers, please do get in touch if you would like to feature in my ‘Meet’ feature next year.
